Josha Lohrengel

Josha Lohrengel explores branding as both a fetishized form of consumerism and a means of shaping personal identity. His humorous paintings of cars, tilted as if leering, question how comparison and jealousy influence self-perception. In his performance video, a red Ferrari aggressively crushes white t-shirts, turning a symbol of power into a childlike spectacle of destruction. Clay horses, modeled after the Ferrari logo but with broad smiles, add a playful absurdity, underscoring the contradictions of status symbols and consumer desire.
